Welcome to Teton School District No. 401. We are excited to have you on our staff. The following information will be beneficial to you and help in your transition to the district.
Payroll - Payroll is paid monthly on the 20th of each month. If the 20th falls on a weekend, the payroll date will be the Friday before the weekend. Payroll is divided over a 12 month period. Direct deposit is required of all employees. You will receive a check the first month and the direct deposit will be active the second month.
Sick Leave - 1 day per working month/ 9 days per year unless your contract is less than the regular school year. Year round employees are allowed 12 sick days. Unused sick leave days can accumulate up to 180 days and be used at retirement to pay for insurance. They can also be transferred to another school district in Idaho if you leave Teton School District (up to 90 days).
Personal Leave - 4 days per year. Unused personal days will be reimbursed in June at the current substitute rate: $62/$79 per day. All personal days must be approved by your building administrator/supervisor. Any personal days requested which will extend a holiday must be approved by your building administrator/supervisor. PERSI - Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho
All employees working 20 or more hours per week are required to join PERSI. The district contributes 11.32% and you will contribute 6.79% to this retirement plan. This contribution is deducted from payroll before taxes. There is also a 401k available through PERSI which you may enroll at any time.
403b - American Fidelity is our 403b Plan Provider. The district has 3 providers offering 403b plans: American Fidelity, Reliastar, and Waddell & Reed.
Blue Cross Insurance - The district offers 2 plans: Buy Down PPO and Economy HSA. Coverage will begin September 1. Family members may only be added at the beginning of the plan year, September 1, unless there is a birth, marriage, adoption or loss of coverage through employment. If your premium deductions are sheltered under our Section 125 plan, family members can only be removed from coverage at the beginning of the 125 plan year, March 1, unless there is an IRS qualifying event (one of which is a premium increase September 1). Dental coverage is optional, but vision is not. You must work 20 or more hours per week to be eligible for coverage.
Life Map - A $50,000 Life Insurance/Accidental Death Policy is provided by the district to all employees working more than 20 hours per week at no cost to you.
Section 125 Plan - American Fidelity is the district's Section 125 Plan Provider. They offer life insurance, medical reimbursement, dependent child care, accident, long-term care, cancer policies, etc. Some of these premiums can be deducted pre-tax. You will be contacted by an American Fidelity representative to see if you have an interest in enrolling.
Sick Leave Bank - The district has a sick leave bank which you may join. The Sick Leave Bank Bylaws are included in your packet.
Requisitions - Requisitions need to be entered into Skyward and approved by your principal. He/she will forward the requisition to the District Office. The District is set up with School Specialty electronically to place orders.
Reimbursements - There are reimbursement forms for mileage, professional development and expense reimbursement. All receipts must be attached to these forms (excluding mileage). All forms must be signed by your administrator/supervisor and submitted to the District Office for reimbursement. Reimbursements are paid through accounts payable. The check will be available to pick up at the District Office or mail to your home.
Technology - Infinite Campus is the student information system for the District. Training will be provided. The District also uses Gmail, Google Docs, Aesop, and Skyward.
Teton Valley Education Foundation - TVEF serves every student and educator in Teton Valley, Idaho's public schools. They work closely with school and district leadership to support critical projects that cannot be funded with the school district's budget. To learn about their grant program see tetoneducation.com. Employees may contribute to the foundation through monthly payroll deduction.
Idaho State Department of Education - To find new legislative updates and information on teacher certification go to sde.idaho.gov.
Staff Development - The District has allocated $1,000 per teacher for professional development upon prior approval from the building principal or superintendent. The $1,000 may be used for tuition costs, lodging, transportation, and/or meals; however, the following guidelines must be followed: lodging up to $100 per night, mileage at $0.54 per mile, meals up to $50 per day. Airfare shall be approved by the superintendent on a case by case basis. In order for the teacher to be reimbursed they must complete the necessary expense reimbursement forms with receipts in Skyward. These monies will NOT roll over from year to year.
Skyward - An online data base which holds personnel information. Pay stubs are not sent out to employees each month, but they can be viewed by logging onto your skyward account. Time off information is also available to view on Skyward.
Aesop - This online system allows employees to enter their absences and intern assigns a substitute.

I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Please fill out page 7 and return with required documents listed on page 9.
W-4 Fill out completely (with your mailing address), sign, and return. This is your tax exemption form for payroll. If you have questions regarding the number of exemptions to claim, please contact your accountant as we cannot give tax advice.
PERSI Application for Membership & Beneficiary Designation Any employee working 20 hours or more per week is required to join the state retirement system.
Blue Cross of Idaho Enrollment form Please fill out both sides of the form, sign and return. Insurance information, including SBC's can be found under Staff Links > Insurance Information.
Life Map Enrollment Card TSD 401 covers all employees working over 20 hours per week with a $50,000 life/accidental death policy at no cost to you. Be sure to list your beneficiary(s).
Internet/Email Password Enrollment This information will grant you access to school computers and district email. It is important to check your email regularly.
Direct Deposit Authorization Form Your first check will be paper. After the account is successfully prenoted, paychecks will go directly into your account. You can view your check information via Skyward.

Fingerprint Forms Idaho Code requires all school district employees to be fingerprinted and have a background check. A) Pick fingerprint card up at District Office B) Take the fingerprint card and form to the local sheriff's department to be fingerprinted, they charge $20. C) Once fingerprinted return card, form and Noncriminal Statement to Becca at the District Office with a check for $32.00 written to the Idaho Department of Education. ***You will not be allowed to start work until card, form, and fee have been turned in. ***If this is the first time applying for an Idaho teaching certificate, return the fingerprints to the Department of Education with your application. Mark that you are an employee of Teton School District.

Verification of Previous School Employment
Teaching Certificate You should have already applied for an Idaho Teaching Certificate. If you have not done so, please contact the Department of Education, Teacher Certification in Boise at 208-332-6884 to get forms. The forms are also available on their website: sde.idaho.gov. You must apply for and receive an Idaho certificate regardless of reciprocally with your current state. Failure to do so may jeopardize your employment. When you receive your certificate, bring one copy into the District Office. Your first paycheck will not be released until proof is received that you have applied for an IDAHO certificate.
Transcripts Certified employees must provide official transcripts.
Contract/Letter of Intent Certified employees must sign and return both copies of their contract. Once Chairman of Board and Superintendent sign, you will receive a copy. Classified employees should sign and return their letter of intent.
